Who am I? Well that's easy. I am Cindy van der Westhuizen, I am a wife to a sometimes stubborn, but adorable husband, a mommy of two beautiful blondes, and raising them is my world and real easy, but keeping plants alive that only need to be watered once a month is apparently out of my reach. I am a pleaser, a crazy, finicky, free-spirited, self-taught wannabe. I love adventures, creating and coffee. I mean... I REALLY love coffee!!!

I got my first "fancy" camera after my daughter was born, and I am glad I have all those memories. This photography journey started when my best school friend asked me to do her wedding photos. I enjoyed every moment and decided to explore this passion some more.

The Name... I wanted a strong name! Something or someone inspirational. After many litres of coffee, thousands of name ideas, there it was...one of the strongest and inspirational women, Johanna Catharina van Schalkwyk, my grandmohter, and thus Johanna Catharina Photography.

My soul truly skips a beat every time I edit a session and see the families love show thru. I want to create something meaningful - the quirky, soft, fun, weird, hysterical laughing so hard your stomach hurts, authentic, differing and loving sides of you and yours.
